Chireta haggis sausage

Also called gireta, or girella , chireta”is a type of haggis from Aragon and the Catalan borderlands. “Chireta” literally means “Inside Out”, that is, the sheep’s intestines which make up the casings are cleaned and turned inside out for a smoother, more appetizing appearance.

A Chireta Festival, why ever not?, has been running since 2002 in around the 3rd weekend of October. In 2002, they achieved a Guinness Book of Records record for the longest and heaviest chireta in the world: 103.75 metres long, weighing in at 220kg. More here
