Rural Tourism and accommodation in Castilla-La Mancha
H Located in the centre of the village of Matarrubia, "La Casa de Barro" has four large, comfortable double bedrooms. Each bedroom is painted in a different colour scheme. Upstairs the red and green bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Downstairs, the yellow bedroom has views of the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara. The red and blue bedrooms have double beds; the green and yellow rooms have two individual beds. The house has a large terrace, patio, garden, living room with fireplace, central heating, television, video and DVD. Guests have use of a fully fitted kitchen.
The area is ideal for hiking and wild mushroom picking (saffron milk caps (níscalos) are extremely abundant around Matarrubia); the surrounding areas offer some very interesting and diverse natural and cultural routes, visiting villages full of slate-built "Arquitectura negra" and Rural Romanesque of Guadalajara. The Lagunas de Puebla de Beleña Natural Park also lies nearby. Iberianature notes: there are some fantastic photos of the area -an immense landscape- on their website.
