Snake eating bird

This young Montpellier snake eating a bird on a fence was sent to me a few month back by Robert Parker somewhere in Alicante. Note the telltale white stripes between eyes and along jaw. But what is it eating? Follow the forum thread and more pictures.

Overfishing leading to dolphin deaths

Overfishing along with pollution is now also being blamed on the rising toll (192) of striped dolphins (delfín listado – Stenella coeruleoalba) in the Spanish Mediterranean, as their resistance to cetacean measles is weakened through hunger. Spanish food guide

With considerable help from my partner and lending heavily on the writings of Simon Rice and Francis Barrett I’ve been putting together this Spanish food guide. A better desciption though would be “food which is eaten in Spain”.

Early days and in truth, not quite a guide yet, but a bit more than a glossary. So far it has a Catalan bias which I intend to rectify over the next few months. Any mistakes, omissions or comments please let me know. Nick
