Canyoning in Spain – Rodellar and the Sierra de Guara

The canyons of Northern Spain’s Sierra de Guara are becoming widely known as an international climbing destination – the Mascun Gorge near Rodellar is peppered with crags of all description, from riverside slabs to huge tufa-encrusted caves, while quality multi-pitch routes beckon from slightly more distant cliffs and pinnacles.

Canyoning (Barranquismo) in Spain

The canyon in Abdet (in the Alicante – Valencia region of the Costa Blanca) is called the Barranco de Meli and it offers great sport year round. In summer it can be done just in shorts and t shirt (except after heavy rain). If the water is at all cool then you will need a wetsuit (this also helps with your bouyancy).
