Quinta de Luna (2-4 persons) Website - email - Tel. 639483667 It is located in a Special Bird Protection Zone (ZEPA -20,000 hectares) and lies at the source of the River Gévora. A few kilometres away is the ZEPA of Sierra de San Pedro (120,000 hectares) and the Tajo International Natural Park (13,000 hectares). The house is located in the west of the province of Cáceres on the Spanish and Portuguese Border, and is also near the Sierra de San Mamede Natural Park in Portugal. This is an excelent place to watch a wide range of bird species. The visitor can watch Colonies of Vultures from the houses themselves, which nest in the mountains just in front of Quinta de Luna. Features The house can be used by 2-4 people. It has a living room, kitchen, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms. The house has wooden floors, large windows and all mod. cons., heating, TV, hifi, board games, microwave, hairdryer, cot.There is also a large garden with a swimming pool. Activities  Trekking, horse-riding, mountain-bikes, rock climbing, mushroom picking etc. Our visitors can discover lost beautiful paths used by smugglers between Spain and Portugal . Bird watching: birds like Spanish Imperial Eagle, Golden Eagle, Booted Eagle, Monk Vulture, Black Stork, White Stork, Egyptian Vulture, Bonelli's Eagle, European Roller, etc. The mountain pass of Aguas Claras can be admired from the house, and in the area, you can enjoy the local cuisine from Aceña de la Borrega; visit the Virgen de la Cabeza church and see one of the most important groups of dolmens in the area. Places of interest Valencia de Alcántara: Jewish quarter, dolmens, rich and varied cuisine, a must is a visit to its "Campiña". Marvao and Castelo de Vide: A few kms from Quinta de Luna are these two Portuguese towns. Alburquerque: On the EX-110, km. 34.8, famous for its medieval castle. San Pedro Mountain Range: Wildlife, flora and other places nearby. Prices Prices range from 50 euros to 110 euros plus 7% VAT night, depending on season and number of persons.
