Cortijo la Viñuela, described by many visitors as "a little paradise", is a 300 year old rural but very elegant Spanish farmhouse recently refurbished and tastefully restored to combine real comfort and true Alpujarran features. It is a unique property full of charm and character, where guests like to return for the tranquillity and unspoilt views it has to offer. Situated on the border of the Sierra Nevada National Park , at an altitude of 1150m, the 2 acres of lush terraced grounds provide an oasis of shade and greenery in the summer. It is within easy walking distance from the 7 Moorish villages of la Taha de Pitres and a crisscross network of country paths, making it an ideal base for exploring the summits or the valleys of this striking area. The self catering accommodation consists of:

• casita for 2/4 + child,
• an adjoining but independent Studio for 2 and,
• within the old Cortijo, a "Cuadra" apartment for 2/4.

• A lot of water in the summer: waterfalls, pond and 9x5m private swimming pool equipped with a salt chlorinator and a PH controller, which makes it a real delight for the eyes, hair and skin.

Nature

• A considerable number of species of birds have been identified at la Viñuela in June 2006, we also have many visits from foxes, badgers, wild cats and wild boars. The house is on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park , one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in Europe , and a great area for raptors and endemic flora.
