The house
Casa Cuarenta is a spacious and comfortable old house with an artist's studio, suitable for up to 8 people (max. 6 adults), which has been imaginatively restored, furnished and equipped. The rooms are generously proportioned and airy, and as there are several public areas, Casa Cuarenta is especially suitable for groups.
The house has three bedrooms, two living rooms, an artist's studio, a dining room, kitchen, bathroom and a toilet. The upstairs living room is arranged in such a way that one part could easily be curtained off to provide additional sleeping accommodation.
Outside, to the rear of the house, there is a private, completely enclosed and verdant garden with a long terrace as well as various other sitting areas. To the front, a smaller but equally well-planted patio provides further outdoor space.
The surroundings
Casa Cuarenta is located in a quiet and friendly hamlet in the Poniente Granadino, in a gently undulating landscape of fields and olive groves, wonderful for walking, riding or cycling, or simply to sit and revel in the views as birds of prey soar in a blue sky.
It takes less than an hour to the centre of Granada and 15 minutes to the picturesque market town of Alhama de Granada. The Sierras de Alhama, Tejeda and Almijara, the mountain ranges separating the provinces of Granada and Málaga, form a magnificent backdrop just south of Alhama de Granada. The Sierras have natural park status and offer good scope for peaceful hiking through varied terrain. Also within easy access, and surrounded by hills studded with almond, olive and orange trees, lies the Pantano de Bermejales, a large turquoise lake with opportunities for swimming and canoeing.
