Red striped oil beetle ( Meloe majalis) or blister beetle

In parts of Spain known as a frailecillo, also the name for a puffin, and literally a "little monk". Blister beetles in parts of of Spain were steeped in oil and then the resulting oil was said to be a cure for cyatic pains Found often in sandy soils.
