Voles in Spain

Water voles are known as ratas. Other voles are topillos. Note the potential confusion with topos (moles). There are no species of voles on the Canaries or the Balearics. Apart from Cabrera’s vole, none of the voles are threatened.

See links on right for individual species of voles in Spain.
